Red Banana Plant | 75cm

Sale Price:€44.90 Original Price:€54.90
Sold Out

Size: Approximately 75 cm tall (including nursery pot)
Botanical Name: Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii'
Also known as: Red Abyssinian Banana or Red Banana Plant

Bold, sculptural, and utterly tropical — Ensete maurelii, the Red Banana, is pure botanical drama. With massive paddle-shaped leaves flushed in deep burgundy, bronze, and green, it adds instant impact and a lush, exotic vibe to any space. Though it won’t fruit indoors, its presence alone transforms a room, sunroom, or sheltered patio into a jungle sanctuary. Originally from East Africa, this fast-growing plant craves light and warmth — ideal for plant lovers ready to go big and bold.

Light:
Loves bright, indirect light and can handle some direct sun. The more light, the richer the colour.

Water:
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3 cm feels dry. Avoid letting it sit in water.

Humidity & Temperature:
Enjoys warmth and moderate humidity. Ideal range is 20–28°C. Protect from cold — not frost-tolerant.

Pet-friendliness:
Generally considered non-toxic, but large leaves may tempt curious pets — best placed out of reach.

Perfect for:
Focal points, bright corners, and anyone craving a bold, architectural centerpiece.

We are not currently VAT registered. All prices displayed are final and inclusive of any applicable taxes.

Plant Status:

Current Condition – Sunburn on Older Leaves

This banana plant got a little too much sun recently, and a few of its leaves show signs of sunburn (see photos). The damage is cosmetic only and won’t affect its future growth — new leaves are already coming in healthy and strong.

Because of this, we’re offering it at a reduced price. It's still a stunning statement plant, just with a few sun-kissed battle scars!

With the right care and a bright spot out of direct sun, it’ll thrive and grow beautifully.
